This dispenser is part of a pilot project initiated by the Welfare Council (Velferdstinget). Here, students have allocated 100,000 NOK from the semester fee for a pilot project that will run until the end of 2023. The project involves installing dispensers like this one across various campuses in Trondheim and Ålesund.

The campuses where these dispensers have been installed are:

• Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education (QMUC)

• Ålesund

• Kalvskinnet

• Tunga

• Realfagsbygget

After the University of Bergen (UiB) implemented a similar solution for its students (and expanded it), the Welfare Council decided that students affiliated with Sit (Studentsamskipnaden i Trondheim) should also have access to this. This is in line with the "Skolekravet" (School Requirement). Everyone should feel safe at school, and no one should lack what they need when they have their period.
